Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy

Changing erroneous thoughts and faulty beliefs to relieve emotional distress is the focus of this work.  The emphasis is on current thinking and behavior and not on the past. This work may involve testing out assumptions; gradually facing situations that have been avoided; and trying out new ways of behaving.

Psychodynamic Therapy

This is also referred to as insight-oriented therapy and aids in understanding the impact of the past on present behavior and feelings about oneself and current relationships.  Clients gain greater self awareness and understanding of their actions

Interpersonal Therapy

Here relationships are the focus.  This approach can involve improving communication patterns, such as how to express emotions in a healthy way.  The aim is to help you identify and modify interpersonal problems.
